COMMUNITY GAMES SUCCESS

On Friday we held our first Community Games which we hope will be an Annual Event; particularly after our Paralympic Games event in 2012.

We always strive to better ourselves and our Community Games was no exception; this year we had John Williams, a former professional footballer who played in the Premier League for Coventry City.

After John's opening speech we had our Opening Ceremony which was coreographed to music from Michael Jackson and Psy.  And then the competitions began with races including mini hurdles, javelin throwing and egg and spoon!  We would like to thank the Sports Partnership Hereford and Worcestershire for assisting with the purchase of many of these items.

The event was a great day with so many happy faces and so many staff demonstrating how passionate they are about their work - we enjoyed differing sports which all ended with the Closing Ceremony being run by Bromsgrove's Glamba, a fun theatrical percussion group. With everyone joining in to create a dynamic rhythm'n'soul beat, the music brought a multicultural and loud finish to our successfull day.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and who also helped us raise £158.00 for our Social Enterprise which came from selling some of our Handmade items and from the sale of raffle tickets.
