DAY SERVICE GUIDING PRINCIPLES

SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AND MORE!

Our Day Service is now in its 12th year of providing day time community support to people with a disability and/or autism, aged 18 and over within their local community.  The aim of our service is to underpin self-directed support and enable people to access a wide range of community activities and resources in order to have a full and active life.

We focus on providing a stimulating environment and a range of opportunities and activities all designed to develop skills and promote independence.  We provide value for money and focus on various elements including education, learning and work, health and well-being.

All our activities have a purpose and are meaningful and part of this is the development of our social enterprise which is run with a business acumen ie they have products to sell such as Amber Eco and Amber Workshop and have services to promote such as our sports club Amber Active.  Each project includes people with disabilities managing, running and developing the services/products which is why they have been so successful as we promote self determination and have a passion for what we do.

This month we received a compliment from a family member whose son is moving to a new geographic location in the country.  They stated in an email to us “I want to take this opportunity to thank you and all your staff for helping and supporting (name) and myself. (Name) has settled in extremely well at your service . . . I can only account this due to your patience and understanding of his condition. All your staff have been very professional at all times. I would recommend your service extremely highly and thank you again"

We have collated many compliments such as these about the services we provide, most of which can be read on our Testimonials page. If you wish to find out more about the various activities we provide and how we are meeting and exceeding individual outcomes, please call Gary Ives on 01527 873426
