JOHN WATTS MEMORIAL SERVICE
Last week we took part in a very personal Memorial Service in memory of John Watts, a client of ours who passed away in March last year.
In consultation with his family, we created a Living Memorial by planting a tree in one of John’s favourite places in Worcestershire; Sanders Park in Bromsgrove. We chose an Acer Tree ‘Autumn Blaze’ which has an outstanding autumn colour of striking rich reds appropriate for John and his hair colouring.
In addition it was placed close to the road overlooking the many cars and buses which travel up and down the Kidderminster Road each and every day – we believe that John would have approved of this as he was always the ‘Co-Driver’.
We would like to thank Martin Lewis from Bromsgrove District and Redditch Borough Council for his support and advice throughout this process and thank all those who attended this Memorial.
It is nearly 12 months since John passed away and a light in our life went out and is yet to come back on again. As the poem goes: You can remember him and only that he is gone, Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. We believe that his memory lives on and everyone agreed that the tree was a fitting way of celebrating John’s life and a place that we could go to and regularly visit.
