GOOD AND OUTSTANDING FOCUS GROUP WORKSHOP

SKILLS FOR CARE

We were very proud recently to be invited to Skills for Care's London Office in Tavistock Square to take part in an event which would lead to the production of the Good and Oustanding Guide for Health and Social Care Providers.

During the day we looked at:

·       A range of areas of good and outstanding practice from care providers over the day to help shape the new free guide expected to be launched in March 2017 as part of a national campaign to celebrate achievements

·       Topics looked at included successful approaches from Good and Outstanding providers on recruitment, retention induction, staffing levels, safeguarding, care plans, end of life care, medication, supervision, visibility of managers, culture, continual improvement, community engagement, sharing best practice etc

·       The facilitated discussions included a short review of recurring evidence from CQC inspection reports to help prioritise the focus of the guide and longer discussions to contribute from our own experiences and success

·       Skills for Care are hoping to help demonstrate key points by including examples and supportive quotes from leading care providers to help others better understand how to deliver good and outstanding care
